We stayed at Lancemore Milawa, an old but charming 4-stars hotel at Milawa, VIC. It was conveniently across the Brown Brothers Winery and was a short drive to Beechworth.
We explored more of Beechworth and enjoyed a tour at the Old Beechworth Gaol (bought tickets on-site for the next available tour, walked around town and ate at a cafe while waiting for our slot). The guides shared all sorts of stories from the old inmates and I’d recommend everyone to do the tour at least once!
I loved the old-town vibe of Beechworth and the gaol tour gave it so much character. We stopped by parks nearby as we drove between the two towns, just checking what was around us on Google Maps.
